King David and a Fool, from a bible from the workshop of the Master of the Echevinage de Rouen, 1465-1475. More visible in this larger image are the details of the fool's costume; he wears a blue cote with gold embroidery, and his belled hood (with asses' ears and a bird's head), footed joined hose, and bauble are yellow.
